With the support of the European Union, SEESAC implemented Arms Control Activities in the Western Balkans that combat the illicit accumulation and trafficking of small arms and light weapons (SALW) and their ammunitions. SEESAC supported governments in the region to eliminate surplus and confiscated weapons; to collect SALW from civilians and raise awareness about the dangers posed by them; to improve record keeping of SALW; and to increase the security of SALW storages. These are the results of this collective effort.
