THE ANATOMY OF A FREELANCER Freelancers are the great unsung heroes of the British workforce. In January 2014, the number of self-employed people in the UK hit 4.36 million. An 18% increase since 2008. More than merely a shadow workforce, freelancers drive innovation and help businesses generate economic value.
