Airsoft Tips & Tricks To improve your game 2015 #1 #2 Play Tight Lighten your load Profile is how much of you there is for the enemy to shoot at. You want a small profile so that you're less likely to get hit. Playing tight is staying as close to your cover as possible to minimize profile. Don't weigh yourself down with unnecessarily heavy gear and mods, all you're doing is slowing yourself down and giving yourself more things to take into account out in the field. For maximum efficiency, try to keep your elbows in, make sure your legs and bottom don't stick out of cover and make sure to distinguish between cover and concealment- cover blocks incoming fire, concealment hides you but may not block bbs. Just ask yourself- do I really need this, or am I just looking for a reason to use it? If it's the latter, stop it- you're hindering your game by forcing yourself to into a complex solution when a simple one will usually suffice #3 # 4 Look to real guns Learn the distances One of the biggest issues people have in airsoft is simply misjudging distances. You need to be able to eyeball a shot and know how far it is before you even acquire your target. This way, you can figure out how far the shot will drop and adjust accordingly. When buying an airsoft gun it is important to remember that an airsoft gun is designed to imitate a certain real gun. The airsoft gun will share many of the same features. Things like and ambidexterous safety, the type of mag release, and type of sights will all probably be shared with the real version, and be universal with airsoft guns of that type. Also look at the proportions of things like the stock, hand guard, and magazine. A large magazine will hold more ammo and a spacious hand guard or stock will potentially house a larger battery. Bottom Line: The best way to get comfortable with distances is to practice with multiple targets. You're not going to have all 15-foot shots in a match, so don't stick to target practice at only 15 feet. Work on shooting at 10 feet and 25 feet, as well, and you'll learn how different those shots can be. #5 #6 Stay Comfortable Shoot With Your Dominant Hand Your clothing has a lot to do with your accuracy. You must have comfortable clothing that moves easily. Now: If your jacket is too tight and it hampers your freedom of movement, it's going to draw every shot off course. It's also important to wear clothing that keeps you the appropriate temperature. If you're shivering, your shaking hands are going to throw off your shots; if you're sweating, you won't be able to hold the gun firmly enough to line the sights up perfectly. Your aim is always better with your dominant hand; you should always practice cocking with your off-hand until your master the technique so that each shot can be as accurate as possible. Dress for your environment and you'll both enjoy the battle more and shoot more accurately. #7 #8 Silence is golden Keep a watchful eye Being quiet in any field will save your life. Walking with as little noise as possible, step lightly, using a quiet whisper (even when using a radio), walking through brush and trees, etc. Using hand signals to communicate with you squad/team is a very good practice. Listen: Be an active listener. With the items mentioned above you can hear an opponent before you see them. A snap of a twig to someone talking can give you a good approximation of the opposition's location. When on patrol your eyes are one of your most important assets that you have going for you. Being able to see your enemy, even the slightest movements can give you an advantage. Keep your eyes moving back and forth, the worst thing that you can do is to get tunnel vision by focusing on what is right in front of you. Conclusion Above all else, practice constantly. The more rounds you put downrange, the better you'll be instinctively when taking a shot during an airsoft game.
