WANT TO KNOW HOW Keep the fuel dry Most of smoke from the fuel is caused by the moisture present in the wood. Even the wood that seems to be dry can contain moisture. And wet wood causes a lot of smoke. It is the best to use dry wood as fuel. You can keep the wood dry by : Splitting it into small pieces Keeping it well covered to keep the moisture away Storing it for a long time after splitting and covering it Never add too much fuel at once It is important to monitor the amount of the fuel you are V adding when you are starting a fire. Always remember that small fires can be warmer and hence, more effective. Burn at a high temperature Always remember that burning the fuel at a low temperature usually causes more pollution. Hence, you should be alert enough not to allow the fuel to burn at a moderate temperature. Do not burn garbage Burning garbage is not a great practice. It causes more pollution and hence, leads to greater health hazards. It is advisable to burn only dry and seasoned wood as fuel. Use a fireplace insert Make your fireplace more efficient by using a fireplace insert. It is far more effective an open fireplace.
