Employment in nonfarm private small business payrolls rose 115,000 in January on a seasonally adjusted basis, accounting for 60% of employment gains across all payroll size groups. Within small businesses, 50% of the employment growth contribution was associated with companies having between 1-19 employees and 50% of January's small business payroll growth was driven by companies with 20-49 employees.
