About BridgingGood

BridgingGood - About Us - We're frustrated. People aren't getting the education that they deserve. People are going hungry. People lack access to clean water. And worst of all, we are frustrated with not taking any action. The problems of these causes come down to one main reason: a lack of funding. This is where BridgingGood comes in. It's a mobile phone donation movement to raise money and awareness for the greatest causes by bridging consumers, local businesses, and charities. - The Facts - *data according to the 2010 Cone Cause Evolution Study 83% 90% of Americans would like to see more of consumers want companies to tell them the ways they are of the products, services or retailer they use support worthy causes. supporting causes. of consumers are willing to switch don't think companies are giving 80% 61% from one brand to another brand them enough details about their that is about the same in price and quality, if the other brand is associated with a good cause. efforts, including the amounts donated and the length of the promotions. - What it Does - for consumers for charities for local businesses VECTIPS We make it possible for We raise money and awareness We make it super-easy for local consumers to convert a portion of for charities by directly targeting businesses to launch a cause the fundraising campaign to the consumer's everday point of their everyday purchases at their related social media marketing favorite local business into a campaign. charitable donation. purchase. - How it Works - Linking Charity to Local Businesses Every month, BridgingGood partners with a charity and links them to the consumer's favorite local businesses to host fundraising campaigns. Pledging a Donation Participating local businesses pledge to donate a specified amount of each purchase made in their store by BridgingGood consumers. Converting a Purchase into a Donation To donate, consumers download the BridgingGood app and receive a personal QR code that can be scanned at any participating local business. Scanning the QR code confirms that the purchase is a BridgingGood transaction, allowing a portion of the proceeds to be converted into a donation. The BridgingGood App The app can be used to search for nearby businesses currently participating in a fundraising campaign, and to learn more about the featured charity of the month. Building Momentum to the Fundraising Campaign Once their QR code is scanned, the consumer shares their transaction (and donation) via their social network, allowing friends to get behind the cause and make donations by shopping at businesses participating in BridgingGood. Donation Transparency BridgingGood tracks and displays the status of the fundraising campaign in real-time to provide transparency to the consumer, local business and the charity. Donating to Charity After a month, local businesses send the total donations raised from the campaign to the select charity. - Our Story - BridgingGood is one of four finalist in NYU's Gallatin Business Club Founders Award Competition (http://gallatinbusiness.com/2012-finalists), competing for a grand prize of $10,000 to launch our business. Additionally, BridgingGood placed 4th in the NYU, Columbia, and SVA Social Enterprise Pitch Competition. Our first launch will be broadcasted throughout the NYU community and announced to hundreds of students on final presentation day (mid-April) of the Gallatin Business Club competition. We will be promoting our first partner charity and the nearby NYU local businesses participating in a BridgingGood fundraising campaign.
