7 Big Lies Interviewers Tell Job Candidates

BIG LIES INTERVIEWERS TELL JOB CANDIDATES Interviewers regularly deliver statements to job candidates that aren't entirely accurate and sometimes are outright false. Below there are seven common lies that you will usually find an interviewer telling. 1 "We'll call you and get back to you in some time" For the job seekers this statement is like a red flag. According to the experience of most of the job candidates, "Getting back to you", most of the time means that somewhere the interviewer is not exactly impressed and is considering you as an option in case they do not find the best candidate. Keeping expectations from such interview might not be a good idea. "We are impressed but we still need to interview more people" 2 If they are really so impressed, then why they are informing you that they need to interview more people? In a way they are hinting you that it may not just work out. When interviewers say that, it means that they find you a potential candidate but they are not entirely satisfied and are looking for a better candidate. 3 "You are good and we will consider you, if not for this then for some other project" Face it; you are most probably not going to be considered for any other project. İnterviewers just tell this lie as they find it as a much easier way to get out of the situation without telling you a direct 'No'. Also, if in certain cases they do call you for another project, it might not be satisfying or up to your expectation. "We will give you salary considering your work experience." 4 Undoubtedly experience counts but the salary is not always based on that. Before recruiting, the company has a pre-decided salary package, in case the interviewer cities your experience as a reason for lower salary package, make sure you are well researched about the position and the salary package so that you are not fooled and can negotiate well. 5 "We are still thinking about the offering salary, we will let you know once it is fixed." There is no way an interview can happen without actually fixing the salary for the position. So, if the interviewer tells you this, then there is something definitely wrong. Chances are there that you might get pinned for a job that offers less than deserving. "You would find a great working atmosphere sans any politics" 6 You are definitely not a child to fall for this line. Where there is competition there is bound to be politics, you cannot escape that. Every interviewer would like to portray the company in a better and good way but you should be smart enough to figure out the truth. I "We offer many benefits to our employees" Don't just take the words. It may seem nice and reassuring but without the exact details you never know. Benefits are offered, but the details would do a lot better than the words. Ensure you research or ask about it.
