This new infographic from Prodec Networks explores key stats for 3G and Broadband across urban and rural businesses in the UK. It looks at coverage, speed and satisfaction rates, highlighting some differences as well as similarities for businesses by location. Read through the infographic to find out some very interesting statistics!
One key stat which is slightly surprising is that only 60% of urban businesses use a broadband connection. What is not so surprising however, is that only 41% of rural businesses use a broadband connection, with 34% of these businesses dissatisfied with the reliability and 25% dissatisfied with the value for money.
Looking at the infographic it is clear that both urban and rural businesses are unhappy with the speed of their broadband connection with 48% and 63% of businesses being dissatisfied respectively. East Anglia and some parts of Wales are the least satisfied with their broadband speed which corresponds to the lack of 3G operators in these areas, except for small pockets.
The map of broadband satisfaction rates largely corresponds to the 3G coverage map, except for some parts of central England, namely Northamptonshire and Oxfordshire which have low satisfaction rates with their broadband but are well covered by 3G operators, meaning the use of mobile data connectivity could be a viable option for these areas for Internet services.
