The term coined by astrologer Richard Nolle over 30 years ago.
Now, a Supermoon is a popular term used to describe a full moon when it is at its closest approach to earth.

The result:
Moon looks larger than usual (Seen from Earth)
Distance during Supermoon: 356,991km
Distance on average: 384,400km

Astronomers call it: The Perigee Full Moon
